ILIYA G. ILIEV (born 1954 in Sofia, Bulgaria) graduated at the Kliment Ohridski University (Sofia) – Department for Classical and New Philologies in 1980. Since 1984 he is a member of the Faculty of the Institute for History – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. In 2000 he was nominated Chairman of the Department of Mediaeval History. I. Iliev is PhD, senior research associate; author of monographs, studies, articles and research projects, connected with the investigation, edition, translation and scientific comment of Greek and Latin written sources concerning Bulgarian mediaeval history. Since 1992 he supervises the Department of History and Linguistics at ANUBIS Publishing House.
