Teaching Bulgarian at The University and Schools in Saint-Petersburg

Summary

 

Slavonic philology chair of St. Petersburg State University is a unique slavistic chair outside Bulgaria, annually preparing specialists in Bulgarian language and literature. During the last 50 years over 250 of bulgarists have graduated the chair. The graduates work in universities and in academic institutes, in publishing houses and libraries. In the 1990's some schools of our city manifested their interest in studying slavonic languages. Most consistently Bulgarian language is being taught in the School of Slavonic Cultures ¹ 479 — from 5th to 11th form, 2 hours per week, a class is divided into 2 groups.
